WHO ARE WE ?

We are a group of 11 students at IUT2 in Grenoble, in legal careers and marketing techniques supervised by 2 teachers. In order to validate our year, we have to carry out a humanitarian project. We have therefore decided to come to the aid of the reconstruction of Lebanon following the devastating explosions in Beirut, for this we are in partnership with two associations: VAL'LIBAN, located in Valence and NAWRAJ located in Lebanon. These associations are also fighting to help rehabilitate the country. The explosions caused extensive human and material damage: 204 dead, 6,500 injured as well as 9 missing, and many neighborhoods completely destroyed such as the Gemmayzé neighborhood. The urgency is therefore to help the inhabitants to be able to find their former lives.

FERCHICHI WISSEM (18 YEARS)

"In the first year of the DUT Carrières Juridiques, I am someone who likes to exchange views, helping others is my priority. I have always dreamed of being part of a humanitarian project, today this dream comes true and I will do my best to achieve the expected goals. "

WHY ?

All the story

For us it was fundamental that our group project should aim to be in the humanitarian field.
One of our teachers then offered to participate in a project helping Lebanon.
and more particularly to the Lebanese affected by the dramatic explosion that took place on August 4 in Beirut.
Indeed, this explosion whose images crossed the whole world caused the death of 204 people and left more than 6,500 injured as well as nine missing, including three Lebanese, five Syrians and one Egyptian.
The material damage is estimated at several billion dollars. This explosion generated a very large-scale economic crisis for a country already weakened by the coronavirus crisis.
In fact, seven months later, only thirty percent of the city has been rebuilt, debris still lurks in the streets, and many people have lost their jobs and found themselves homeless.
Therefore, it is our duty to everyone to help restore this magnificent country nicknamed "Eastern Switzerland", and to help the thousands of homeless people today to find a home.

HOW? 'OR' WHAT ?

In order to raise funds to achieve maximum help in Lebanon, our group has implemented several actions, all based on volunteering and solidarity.

From the start, an online fund was created as well as an Instagram account, in order to give us even more visibility we carried out other actions around it. We have deposited a total of 12 piggy banks in small local shops such as bakeries and tobacco shops. We also organized an evening to be held on Saturday March 20, 2021 from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. during which various artists will perform their art (dance, song, painting, musical instrument) to bring us as much visibility as possible.

Throughout this school year we will continue our actions to educate a wider public.

In addition to this, you need to know more about it.
